The Círculo de Bellas Artes
is an old cultural institution in Madrid that has one of the beautiful and monumental
buildings Calle Alcalá stretch between Cibeles and Puerta del Sol (which is, incidentally, one of the most beautiful urban spaces I know). Its rooms are held exhibitions of the most varied, different types of cultural and business meetings, exhibitions ... It also provides, in the same place, a theater and elegant as expensive as cafeteria.
But if I bring up the building of the Circle is not for the cultural events that usually take place in it, nor by the architectural interest that is in itself a beautiful building of the twenties, but by an almost secret corner usually be hidden from the public eye and during the holidays (until next January 8) has been open to both locals and foreigners who have wanted to visit: the splendid terrace
.
Superb for various reasons and, of course, the wonderful views it offers: to the east of Plaza de Cibeles, Puerta de Alcalá further and almost at our feet the vast bulk of the Bank of Spain ; north and south the whole city, from the neighborhoods beyond Atocha Rounds up the new skyscrapers at the end of Castellana and the west of the chariot of the old headquarters of the Banco de Bilbao, so film them, and even Tio Pepe announcement completes the Puerta del Sol .
Not forgetting, of course, one of the most famous views of the city: the beginning of the Gran Vía as well painted Antonio López and the wonderful corner of the Metropolis building and winged figure, now seen closely, is clearly not an angel.
But the terrace itself is interesting, with its peculiar temple (which yes, means that the views are less comprehensive) and the statue of the goddess Minerva, patroness of the arts and a symbol of the Circle. In a sense, despite the apparent mass difference being up there gave me the feeling that one and another held a dialogue and tension that gave the place a very special.

s time though perhaps I'm wrong, that this terrace is open, yet they could verify that is perfectly suited to be visited by tourists and curious locals. So I hope again have the opportunity to jump on the beautiful building, enjoy one of the most beautiful areas of Madrid from a very special and, of course, looking almost eyes to the iron Minerva usually watching us from many feet above, when we come to your feet road Sol or Gran Via
